Strong spatial reasoning ability is one of the most important predictors of achievement in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). By training your brain to mentally rotate objects, visualize complex systems, and plan multiple steps ahead, puzzle games lay a foundational cognitive framework for tackling complex challenges in these demanding fields.
Research has consistently shown a strong correlation between high spatial skills and success in STEM disciplines. Games that demand these abilities, like Portal and The Witness, are considered excellent tools for training the spatial reasoning, logic, and planning skills essential for these fields.
